About the Opportunity
Johnson Hana is seeking to hire Legal Consultants with funds & asset management experience. We have upcoming projects with multiple international companies. These projects will be 6 months in length and there is a strong potential for the projects to be extended beyond this timeframe. These projects are on a contract basis ranging between 30-40 hours per week and will be a hybrid working model.
Responsibilities
Focus on providing assistance on aviation trading, leasing and restructuring transactions (filing documents, updating systems with deal info, gathering internal feedback on draft contracts, managing comms with external counsel and counterparties, setting up deal team calls, helping arrange corporate and internal approvals)
Very fast paced environment with complex, international aviation transactions – the candidate needs to be comfortable juggling 10+ workstreams, taking instructions from multiple team members to strict deadlines and working with team members in USA, Singapore and London. This will be a challenging role as we have a large pipeline of work for the months ahead.
Offer legal counsel and support to investment teams concerning a variety of private markets transactions, such as primaries, secondaries, and co-investments.
Review and negotiate transaction documentation in collaboration with investment managers, along with their legal and tax advisors.
Collaborate closely with external legal counsel as necessary, ensuring timely project delivery and adherence to agreed-upon scopes and budgets.
Address legal queries arising from investments in private equity funds, with a focus on tax and regulatory considerations.
Contribute to internal projects within the broader Legal team.
Skills & Experience
A minimum of 1-5 years of post-qualification experience, acquired in a law firm or the legal department of an asset or fund management firm, with a specific focus on the private markets industry.
Familiarity with closed-ended funds and their operational dynamics.
Exceptional organizational, drafting, and negotiation skills.
Strong commercial acumen, coupled with the ability to provide clear and practical solutions.
Previous experience in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines and tasks.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to manage expectations effectively.
Stay abreast of legal developments to ensure compliance with relevant policies and legislation.
Proactive and able to take initiative, confidently assuming ownership of matters and self-development.
A collaborative team player willing to assist colleagues and share workload.
Enthusiastic and committed to developing a long-term career in an in-house legal role.
