Welcome Barry!

We’re delighted to announce that Barry Doyle has officially joined Johnson Hana as Chief Financial and Operating Officer, following seven months in an interim capacity.

Barry was previously an Investment Director at the entrepreneur-led investment company MASV and recently completed his residency as President of Chartered Accountants Ireland. In May 2024, he became the youngest President in the Institute’s 136-year history.

Barry studied at DCU before training as a Chartered Accountant with EY in Dublin. He later spent several years in Australia, working with National Geographic and Fox International Channels. On returning to Ireland, he held a number of roles in the early-stage technology sector, including CFO positions at xSellco and Storyful, before becoming COO at Mason Alexander and later joining MASV.

At MASV, Barry managed the family office of Dan & Linda Kiely, who were one of the earliest backers and investors in Johnson Hana and was involved in supporting early-stage and scaling technology businesses—this is when he began working with Johnson Hana.

Barry brings significant experience, including his time at Storyful, where he helped lead the business through its acquisition by News Corp in 2013. He is the perfect person to help lead us into our next chapter.

Commenting on the announcement, Barry said:

I’m delighted to share that I’m joining Johnson Hana as Chief Financial and Operating Officer. Johnson Hana has been an absolute standout investment for MASV and it’s a company and team that I’ve gotten to know so well over the last 5 years. The vision that Dan Fox has had for the business has been unwavering and his passion and determination, as well as that of the incredible team is something that has me hugely excited. The opportunity in the market, not only in Ireland but globally, for the problems Johnson Hana solves is immense and I cannot wait to get stuck into the next phase of its journey.”

Dan Fox, CEO and Co-Founder of Johnson Hana said:

“Over the past seven months, Barry Doyle stepped in as interim CFO/COO — and from day one, he brought the kind of clarity, control and calm that every high-growth company dreams of. I’ve been quietly (and not so quietly) trying to convince him to stay ever since.
Today, I’m delighted to say he’s in. Full time. For the journey. Barry’s not just a finance and ops heavyweight — though he is that. He’s also one of those rare people who just gets it: the pace, the ambiguity, the need to build structure without killing momentum. He brings serious professionalism, deep expertise and a cool head — all without ever losing the cultural thread of who we are and what we’re building.
A business like Johnson Hana isn’t for everyone. We’re scaling fast, building out new models, disrupting an antiquated profession and operating in a space that’s ripe for transformation. It’s not linear. It’s not always tidy and sometimes painful. But if you’re up for the journey, it’s unlike anything else.
I couldn’t be more excited to have someone of Barry’s calibre and integrity helping lead us through this next chapter. We’ve got big plans — and now we’ve got the right operator to help us deliver them. Welcome aboard, Barry."

Barry joins our already impressive C-suite team: Dan Fox, CEO; Alex Fox, CCO; and Lee Morrisey, Chief Delivery Officer (CDO). We’re delighted to have his expertise and vision on board as we continue to shape the future of the legal industry for our clients. 🚀
